We may have all heard the phrase, “It's not finished until the paperwork is completed.” In any incident there will always be several people in the background, ensuring that all the details are completed. This valuable service takes the load off of the actual search team, allowing them to focus on conducting that actual search. Activities might include monitoring the team radio communications and documenting critical messages or assisting the team lead by checking volunteers in and out of the scene. Higher level admin support personnel will assist in such vital services as developing the Lost Person Questionnaire, assembling and posting the missing person information sheets, acquiring food and beverages for the personnel in the field, and a wide range of other details that allow the team to function.
