Incident Command System

Every incident has to have some level of structured framework for bringing order from the chaos. The Incident Command System (ICS) is the agreed-upon framework under which virtually all serious SAR and disaster response teams function in the field. As a member of OSRT, you will be required to familiarize yourself with the structure of ICS and how it impacts our operations. While the “typical” search for a local missing person may not include the full ICS structure, any time OSRT responds to an incident and integrates our activities with those of law enforcement, fire services, or emergency management we will always utilize aspects of ICS.
