OSRT Search and Rescue Team Members Complete Rope Rescue Operations Certification
August, 2021 - Mansfield, Ohio – Press Release: The Ohio Special Response Search & Rescue Team announces eight members have completed an intense professional training program in Rope Rescue Operations. The program, delivered by Rescue Methods of Powell, Ohio, conforms to National Fire Protection Association “Standard for Rescue Personnel #1006”. Activities included high angle rescue, rope rigging systems, stokes packaging and recovery, rappelling and ascending devices, and more.
The Ohio Special Response Team is the state’s most comprehensively credentialed search and rescue team, approved by the state and qualified as a FEMA Emergency Support Function #9 team. Team members complete extensive training via FEMA, Homeland Security, National Association for Search & Rescue, Mountain Rescue Association, American Standards 2209, and others.
